Michelle Mortensen
Occupational Therapist
Michelle initially gained a degree in Psychology which sparked a huge interest for her in neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation, and assistive technology. Through voluntary work in the National Rehabilitation hospital Dun Laoghaire Dublin Ireland, Michelle was introduced to Occupational Therapy. Michelle qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2011 from Queen Margaret University Scotland and worked in the Fife community and NHS Lothian. She worked primarily in Medicine of the Elderly and Acute Stroke prior to moving to Tasmania in 2016. Since coming to Tasmania, Michelle has navigated the Australian health care system (public and private) and integrated into NDIS.
Michelle has a specialist interest in Dementia care and is a C.O.P.E trained dementia therapist.
Michelle is also a certified LSVT Big Therapist and is offering this service in Tasmania.
Outside work she is a mother to three very active young children and her fur baby.
Sarah fox-smith
Occupational Therapist
Sarah initially studied a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Tasmania, majoring in Sociology and German. She then went on to complete her Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Queensland in 2004. Sarah has worked predominantly in the community throughout her career, with a good mixture of over 65’s as well as younger disabled people, both in Queensland and in Tasmania. She has also dabbled in work rehabilitation and in an Acute Care setting at the Launceston General Hospital.
Sarah has been working with NDIS participants since 2020 and thoroughly enjoys the challenge. She has recently finished her role with the Specialist Palliative Care Service within the Tasmanian Health Service.
Sarah is a certified LSVT Big Therapist and is offering this service in Tasmania.
Outside of work, Sarah is a mother of two girls and enjoys spending time at the beach with her family.
